Supporting the depiciton of scientific ideas and the history-of-science in theatre

What is ‘Science in Theatre’?

Science can be cast in many roles in the theatre. Sometimes a play is written to convey a scientific idea. Sometimes the characters themselves are scientists. Sometimes the life of a great figure from the history of science is portrayed on stage. And sometimes an idea or concept from science simply provides the inspiration for a play that is about something else altogether. At its best, ‘science in theatre’ can be all of these things at once. But the culture of science and culture of theatre often go together and Science Centre Stage celebrates that union.
